Steelman is a native of Pennsylvania that has made his way to Idaho by way of New York, Florida, Georgia and Utah. He has two earned degrees; BA in Bible and Ministry from Atlanta Christian College, East Point, Georgia, and an MA in Ministry from Pacific Christian College, Fullerton, California. He was ordained to ministry by the First Christian Church of Kissimmee Florida in 1976 and has served churches in Florida, Georgia, Utah and Idaho.
Steelman served many years in bi-vocational ministries. He is a journeyman brick and stonemason and has supported his family with various types of employment over the years. Since 1997 he has been employed full time by Kimberly Christian Church as the Sr. Pastor. His wife Diane is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Business Management and is employed locally as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper. The Borden’s have one son who lives in Woodstock, Georgia, with his wife and five children. The only hard part about ministering in Idaho is the long distance that has to be traveled to visit the grandkids. But, that’s why God had airplanes invented.
Steelman serves on several boards including the Ageless Senior Center, Kimberly, ID; Intermountain Christian Camp, Fairfield, ID; and, Emmanuel School of Religion, Johnson City, TN. He is also an active member of the Kimberly Lions Club.
Steelman and Diane enjoy RV’ing, golfing, snow skiing, fishing, and most recently quick draw shooting with the Cowboy Fast Draw Association where they are known by their aliases; Stainless Steel and Deadeye Di. God has blessed our lives by calling us to serve Him in Kimberly, Idaho. We are thankful to know and serve beside the good people of Kimberly Christian Church.
